Lana Zaderetska

Lana is a Ukrainian-born abstract artist whose work explores materiality, emotion, and spatial perception. Her practice involves layered, mixed-media compositions that investigate the tactile and symbolic qualities of surface and form. With a background in environmental and architectural design, Lana brings a spatial sensitivity and structural awareness to her art, allowing material to guide both concept and process.

Now based in the United States, she is studying Color and Materials Design at the College for Creative Studies (CCS), where she continues to explore the relationship between texture, color, and human experience. Her approach is intuitive, often drawing from organic forms and emotional memory to create visually immersive, contemplative works.

Lana’s pieces exist in the space between fine art and design—where abstraction becomes a language for sensation, silence, and transformation. She is particularly interested in how materials can hold meaning and evoke states of tension, softness, and resonance in both gallery and spatial contexts.
